Much loved GG star Blake Lively is tired of Gossip Girl and admits that Gossip Girl is holding her back from persuing her movie career.
The 21 year old actress confesses that shooting Gossip girl is getting in the way of film offers.
“We shoot nine months out of the year, so there are so many films I can’t do.
On my latest movie I would go and take a day off from Gossip Girl in New York and go to Connecticut and shoot that and then come back the next day. And they don’t really like to share you.”
Lets hope they’re willing to share for a little bit longer!

I honestly do not care. her character serena on the show is boring, and blake, while she is very beautiful, is not the best actress around. Being one of the few natural blondes in hollywood and being abnormally tall can only get you so far.

Serena is an important character on the show not to mention one of the lead role..so it’s not surprising if GG’s Serena had that hectic sched.I’m sure every star on the set are working so hard to make on their “other” appointments after a tiring shooting from Gossip Girl..Isn’t a routine changing life a normal word for a young “in demand” actress??I mean,i don’t know any Blake Lively before Gossip Girl..i think she should study her cards one by one before throwing the most valuable piece. Gossip Girl is on it’s pick of success and the whole cast ofcourse got along the fame.And where do you think all those movie offers came from if it wasn’t for GG. Not to fast girl!

is she crazy? if she leaves GG, then the whole plot will just have to change. and she should be thankful that she has a show that people arent exactly bored with YET. its probably putting more money in her pocket than one movie would. but, honestly, it is holding her back. she’s now stereotyped into a Gossip Girl. directors are gonna have a hard time giving her roles that arent in the same genre…

Blake has these gorgeous blond hair and these beautiful eyes! but other then that… that’s it. I watched a couple of movies of her before she starred in Gossip Girl and I notice something really “weird”. In her previous roles she talks normally but then when you watch GG you kind of notice she’s doing this weird accent, like she’s curling her tongue when she talks, something a little a girl would try to do to look cute but it just looks like they’re trying to hard.
Also, Blake can’t play any other role then the It-Girl or Girl Next Door, anything other then that she’s lost. Atleast Leighton did a little more variation in her previous roles before she starred in GG.

honestly, i can’t believe she’s already thinking like this and it’s only been 2 seasons! i don’t think she understands that her “career” wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for gossip girl! how could she turn her back on the show that’s been so good to her?
if she does decide to leave, i hope her career goes to the dogs just like mischa barton’s.

I love Blake on Gossip Girl. And I agree, Serena’s one of the major characters, if not the most important. But, if Blake chooses to leave GG, then that’s her choice. Not to mention, as an actress, her career can really take off if she goes into more films. And she may have gotten the most publicity from Gossip Girl, but remember, she’s been great in films like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Accepted. Personally, I don’t want her to leave, but if she does, I hope that it only brings her more success.

Blake does very well, and her private life isn’t broadcast like some stars- so maybe coming up to your conclusions isnt such a good idea. Its funny how some of you compare her to serena, its made up. lmao

I love Blake! I don’t know why everyone complains about her character or her so-called ‘inability’ to act. She offers a much needed calmer personality on the show; she is the sugar to Blair’s spice, and the water to Blair’s fire. But Blake… GG did get you where you are! Don’t be so eager to leave so soon, you’re still young and you’ve got plenty of time to do movies.

Hi everyone,
To be honest I started to watch BL’s movies couple of days ago. About GG – I think it was quite awesome but it could be just me but think 2nd season isn’t so great at 1st was, so maybe BL knows something we don’t, like GG becoming a boring TV-show, as I understood she’s a smart girl and whatever her decision would be is in her best interest.

Hey,
I can’t believe people have the balls to come on a site dedicated to Blake and bitch about her to no end.
Blake is beautiful, has incredible style sense and is one of the few down to earth, quirky actresses you can find.
I understand Leighton is beautiful too and a really good actress, but for crying out loud, stop comparing the two. You don’t compare Angelina Jolie (ew) and Drew Barrymore do you?
And IF she decides to leave GG (GET REAL GUYS, ALL SHE SAID WAS IT’S HOLDING HER BACK! She didn’t say she’s leaving! What about all the times actors like Chace and Ed said it? No one seemed to have a problem then, bc oh yeah, they’re hot.) she’s an actress and we should respect her for it and hope she does the best she can afterward.

Blake Lively as Serena, no matter what we think, has definitely been
the center of the show’s story. Don’t get me wrong though, I know
each one of the characters have their own story in the show.

The hate these beautiful women inspire is nothing but jealousy. If she stays too long on GG then she will become Serena. And how would anyone know ‘what other roles she could play?’ Hollywood has two roles, movie stars and actors. Too few know the difference but Blake is too young to be typecasted as Serena. 30 approaches faster then we want to think. Leave her alone, stop talking about how she’s not all that. These women are unprecedented in human history as their fame is global and approaches religious status. Its not trivial because the worship of beautiful women is the 3rd oldest religion behind stargazing and fertility rites which both factor in what TMZ would dismiss as celebrity worship. APHRODITE’s temples are older than any Jewish, Christian or Muslim structure.
